Restylane is long lasting but not permanent but the restylane procedure can be repeated often. Most patients choose to have a follow-up restylane treatment 6 to 12 months after an initial treatment. It is not advised to have restylane treatment if pregnant or breast feeding. Alcohol intake should be reduced at least 24 hours before restylane treatment. Medication such as aspirin may cause bruising following restylane treatment as will high doses of vitamin E. Restylane treatment cannot be performed until ceasing Accutane medication for at least 6 months. Sun beds, waxing, electrolysis and laser treatments should be avoided at least 48 hours before restylane treatment and for several days after.
Bruising may be reduced following restylane treatment by taking Arnica tablets two days before restylane treatment. Risk of cold sores following restylane treatment may be reduced by the use of Zovirax® tablets if prone to getting cold sores.
Immediately after restylane treatment there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the restylane treated area. This is a normal result of the restylane injection.
The restylane treated area should be massaged gently for 30 seconds morning and night for 2 to 3 days. The initial swelling after restylane treatment may last longer. Some patients experience swelling for about a week after restylane treatment. This means that the result directly after the restylane treatment should not be seen as the final result.
Avoid touching the restylane treated area for 6 hours after the treatment. After that the area can be gently washed with soap and water and light make-up can be applied.
Restylane contains the human body's own natural material: hyaluronic acid.
BOTOX is recommended for the treatment of frown lines, wrinkles and worry lines. Botox is also recommended for the treatment of eye lines and neck lines.
BOTOX for wrinkles therapy is an effective treatment for frown lines and worry lines. Botox wrinkles treatment usually takes effect after 3-5 days but it may take 2 weeks for the maximum Botox effect. The effect of Botox wrinkles treatment lasts between 3 to 6 months although after a few Botox treatments the effect lasts longer.
There are several possible side effects from Botox treatment but all are minimal. There may be a mild stinging sensation when the Botox injection is performed. Mild weakness or paralysis of the eyelid (ptosis) or brow may occur with drooping of the eyelid or brow following Botox treatment but it usually only lasts 2-3 weeks. The incidence of ptosis following Botox injections is approximately 2%. Another Botox side effect is a transient headache, numbness or bruising, although all are uncommon.
Botox is a natural purified protein and relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles. Botox creates a smoothed, rejuvenated appearance. When injected into a muscle, Botox temporarily blocks the chemical signals that make the muscle contract. Only minute quantities of Botox are injected and only the injected muscle will be affected.
