“My Thermage treatment has made my post-menopausal skin feel pre-menopausal again - plumper, tighter and glowing”
In the June edition of Woman&Home Thermage is featured in a road-test feature on transformational face and body treatments. Thermage is featured as ‘The Power Lift'. The piece reads, ‘Thermage, a non-invasive radio frequency therapy that is customised for you. Great for sleeker, smoother and younger looking skin, when you don't want anyone to know you've had something "done".
'Firstly, this is totally painless, it's not unpleasant at all and there is also no downtime. Secondly, when I went out to the night after I had it done, a friend told me I didn't have a wrinkle on my face, which pleased me no end! They say the treatment doesn't have an instant effect, but works over a matter of months, and I have found this to be the case. I have always had quite puffy eyes, and this treatment certainly had a positive effect on this. My eyes felt fresher and less hooded. I found that the skin around my eye area is tighter and my wrinkles less obvious, particularly the small lines around the eyes. This is a great, pain-free treatment that works, and the good news is, it keeps working. I'd definitely recommend this.'
Woman's Own recently featured TV personality and Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden in an interview where the celebrity reveals her 'top tips for looking gorgeous.' Amanda says, “I made the mistake of confessing on TV that I had had Botox once. But now I look for the latest non-invasive treatments like Thermage or Fraxel. They're skin-cleansing procedures that keep your collagen alive and awake with no knives or needles.”
London Evening Standard
Following Gwyneth Paltrow's informal endorsement of Thermage, the story has been picked up by several additional media outlets including the print and online editions of the London Evening Standard.
The article, entitled: ‘Botox injections made me look like Joan Rivers, admits Paltrow&rsquo
The article reads 'Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin with whom she has two children, admitted she had tried Thermage laser treatment. She said "it feels like someone's smacking your face with a rubber band that has an electric shock in it. But I would do it again because it feel (sic) like it took five years off my face.'

Dr Rakus is now ranked the busiest Thermage clinic in Europe
Thermage is the new FDA approved non-surgical facelift and
body contouring treatment
Thermage is a safe, non-invasive FDA approved procedure that's clinically proven to tighten and contour your skin. Its unique deep-heating technology stimulates and renews your own collagen, resulting in tighter, smoother skin and it can be used to treat a number of areas across the face and body.
Thermage is completely non-invasive so there is no surgery or injections and unlike lasers, Thermage works on all skin types and tones. Thermage procedures are typically performed in a single session. And there's no downtime - so you can quickly resume your normal routine.
Thermage works by transmitting radio frequencies deep into the dermis, heating up the collagen network which results in the tightening of the skin. Over the following few months, this kick-starts the growth of new collagen resulting in a tighter, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.
You'll see a small lift immediately after your Thermage treatment, but best results develop within around two to three months. At that time, if a patient wishes, the procedure can be repeated in order to gain additional improvement.
Thermage is safer than invasive cosmetic procedures. Unlike lasers, Thermage works on all skin types and colours. Best of all, you only need one treatment to obtain the full benefits. In addition, there is no downtime, so you can quickly resume your daily routine.
Thermage is the only treatment option that rejuvenates the collagen deep in your skin, with none of the negative aspects of other treatments. Unlike injections or fillers, Thermage works across your entire face, including forehead, eyes, nasolabial folds, jaw line, jowls and the area under your chin.
No. Unlike surgery, there is no pre-procedure preparation, such as blood work or fasting required for the Thermage treatment. One can return to regular activities immediately following the Thermage skin treatment and there is no special care after treatment. Some patients exhibit a temporary redness or minor swelling after treatment, this usually resolves within 24 hours.
Good skin care and sunscreens are recommended as part of your regular skin care regimen. The only signs of the Thermage treatment are naturally smoother, younger, and healthier skin.
Thermage treatments are performed only in a medical facility by Thermage certified personnel. Most practices offer free consultations. Women 35-60 normally have the best and most predictable results. If your skin is too lax, the results will not be as dramatic.
During the Thermage treatment, you'll feel a brief, heat sensation each time Thermage delivers energy to the underlayer of your skin. This indicates that your collagen is being stimulated and tightened. Thermage is a very safe procedure. Side effects are generally mild and may include redness, swelling, blisters, bumps and rare instances of surface irregularities.
The Thermage skin treatment procedure immediately tightens existing collagen and stimulates new natural collagen production for up to six months following the treatment. Unpublished reports by experienced cosmetic doctors indicate that results from the Thermage treatment may last for years and are based on the patient's natural ageing process.
Because all individuals are different it is, however, not possible to completely predict who will benefit from treatment with the Thermage device. A small percentage of patients do not respond to the Thermage Treatment. Your practitioner will advise you if additional treatments or smaller touch-up procedures are required to achieve the desired end result.
Unlike many laser procedures requiring four or more sessions, a single Thermage skin treatment produces results in the majority of patients. The treating doctor will determine the course of treatment that is right for each patient, based on the patient's needs and goals.
The Thermage skin treatment procedure has an excellent safety record. With over 190,000 estimated worldwide patient treated with the Thermage procedure to date the reported incidence of side effects is less than 0.4%.
The most frequently reported incidents are classified as swelling, redness, bumps, and blisters on or around treated area. These side effects have disappeared in a few days or weeks after the Thermage treatment. A rare (less than 0.11%) but longer lasting side effect described as a surface irregularity has also been reported. Consult with your physician regarding this and any other questions you may have on the safety record of the Thermage skin treatment procedure.

In the Monday 6 May edition of Daily Mail and Mail Online, Thermage is featured in an article by Tanith Carey, entitled 'Would YOU try the no-knife neck lift to look as good as Helen Mirren?' Thermage is mentioned as an alternative to surgery: 'For the needle-phobic, a technique called Thermage uses radio waves to tighten loose or sagging skin. They work by heating up the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen and plumping it up — some patients say they see results for up to two years after. Prices vary, but are from £1,000 to £2,000 for a course of treatments (thermage.com).'
